Born in Staten Island, NY, Dr. Jack grew up in Jackson, TN, and currently resides in Seattle. He and his wife, Dr. Kortne, have one daughter and one son. In his free time, Dr. Jack can be found on the golf course, rain or shine, or playing outdoors with his family. Being raised by restaurant owners, he enjoys cooking for friends and his family.
Dr. Jack Hou attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He completed dental school, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he was also inducted into the Omega Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. To complete his orthodontic training, Dr. Jack attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN, earning his Master of Dental Science and Orthodontic Certificate.
Dedicated to providing the most efficient and comfortable treatments for his patients, Dr. Jack is active in several local study clubs where dentists and dental specialists get together to keep up to date with the latest trends in dentistry and orthodontics. He has presented cases at local study clubs as well as on a national level at the American Association of Orthodontists annual meetings.
In addition to continuing his own education, Dr. Jack also contributes to the education of future orthodontists. He is an affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington, Department of Orthodontics, where he teaches first-year orthodontic residents the fundamentals of wire bending. He is also an instructor at the Charles H. Tweed International Orthodontic Foundation. There, he instructs orthodontists and orthodontic residents in a two-week continuing education course on techniques in orthodontic treatment planning and the fundamentals of wire bending.
