First Visit

The Initial Consultation

Your first visit is aimed at understanding your oral health as well as tooth and bite alignment. We will review your medical history and conduct a thorough exam, with photos and x-rays. This will help us decide whether or not orthodontic treatment is necessary. If treatment is recommended, we can discuss the options and decide which one is right for you. We will listen to your financial needs and create a plan that is catered specifically to you. This is the first step towards your new smile!

What’s Next?

Before treatment begins, you will need to complete your orthodontic records. Oftentimes this is a digital scan used to order custom fit appliances, or for digital study models to solidify your treatment plan. The next step is to get your orthodontic appliances. The appliance delivery appointment usually takes about 40 minutes to an hour. Rest assured, our staff will be here to answer any questions or concerns you may have along the way.

Appointments

Regular visits to the office are very important in order to stay on schedule with your treatment. Patients in traditional braces should come in every six to ten weeks for adjustments. Whereas patients in Invisalign can often be seen every twelve to sixteen weeks. We try our best to work with your schedule, so please let us know what days or times are best for you. If something comes up, let us know, we will try our best to make changes to your appointment or reschedule.

It is super important to continue to visit your regular dentist during this time. Your oral health can be compromised if you don’t clean your braces or appliances properly, so please make sure you continue to make appointments with your dentist at least every six months. Let us know when you are scheduled so we can remove the wires prior to your appointments.
